How to Find Us
 
The Office of Research Administration is located in Suite 820, Erwin Square, 2200 West Main Street.  Enter the main building entrance, take elevators to 8th floor, exit towards the open stairwell and turn right. 
 
Parking:  Visitor parking is available in the 1 hour customer parking in front of the building and in the Parking Garage located adjacent to the building.  To access the Parking Garage, enter the main entrance to Erwin Square from West Main Street and go half way around the circle.  Go past Parizade and Verde restaurants (on your left) and turn left.  Parking garage entrance will be on your left. 
 
If you need to drop off documents after hours, the Office of Research Administration drop box is located next to the entrance of the visitors' parking in the Parking Garage.          
 

Driving Instructions

 From I-40 West:

  • Take I-40 West to exit 279B (NC-147 N) towards Durham/Downtown.
  • Merge onto NC-147 N.
  • Take the Swift Avenue Exit to Ninth Street/Duke University East Campus.
  • Turn right onto Swift Avenue at the light at the top of the exit ramp.
  • Cross over train tracks and turn left at light onto W. Main Street.
  • Follow W. Main Street through one traffic light (cross over Ninth Street).
  • Pass Wachovia Bank and Erwin Square Mill Building (on right).
  • The next right is the entrance to Erwin Square Plaza (tall glass building).
   From I-40 East:
  • Take I-40 East onto I-85 North.
  • Take I-85 North to NC-147 South, Exit 172, towards Durham/Downtown/Research Triangle Park.
  • Merge onto NC-147 South.
  • Take the Swift Avenue Exit to Ninth Street/Duke University East Campus.
  • Turn left onto Swift Avenue at the top of the exit ramp at the light.
  • Cross over train tracks and turn left at light onto W. Main Street.
  • Follow W. Main Street through one traffic light (cross over Ninth Street).
  • Pass Wachovia Bank and Erwin Square Mill Building (on right).
  • The next right is the entrance to Erwin Square Plaza (tall glass building).

From I-85 North:

  • Take I-85 North to exit 172, NC-147 South, towards Durham/Downtown/Research Triangle Park.
  • Merge onto NC-147 South.
  • Take the Swift Avenue Exit to Ninth Street/Duke University East Campus.
  • Turn Left onto Swift Avenue at the top of the exit ramp at the light.
  • Cross over train tracks and turn left at light onto W. Main Street.
  • Follow W. Main Street through one traffic light (cross over Ninth Street).
  • Pass Wachovia Bank and Erwin Squre Mill Building (on right).
  • The next right is the entrance to Erwin Square Plaza (tall glass building).

 From I-85 South:

  • Take I-85 South to Exit 175, making a left onto Guess Road at the light at the bottom of the exit ramp.
  • Follow Guess Road to the intersection of Broad Street (Centura Bank on the left), making a left onto Broad Street.
  • Cross over major intersections at Club Boulevard and Markham Avenue.
  • Turn right onto W. Main Street.
  • Pass Wachovia Bank and Erwin Squre Mill Building (on right).
  • The next right is the entrance to Erwin Square Plaza (tall glass building).     

From NC-147 North:

  • Take NC-147 North.
  • Take the Swift Avenue Exit to Ninth Street/Duke University East Campus.
  • Turn right onto Swift Avenue at the light at the top of the exit ramp.
  • Cross over train tracks and turn left at light onto W. Main Street.
  • Follow W. Main Street through one traffic light (cross over Ninth Street).
  • Pass Wachovia Bank and Erwin Squre Mill Building (on right).
  • The next right is the entrance to Erwin Square Plaza (tall glass building).        

From NC-147 South:

  • Take NC-147 South.
  • Take the Swift Avenue Exit to Ninth Street/Duke University East Campus.
  • Turn left onto Swift Avenue at the light at the top of the exit ramp.
  • Cross over train tracks and turn left at light onto W. Main Street.
  • Follow W. Main Street through one traffic light (cross over Ninth Street).
  • Pass Wachovia Bank and Erwin Squre Mill Building (on right).
  • The next right is the entrance to Erwin Square Plaza (tall glass building).      

 From 15-501 Bypass:

  • Take US-15-501 North to 15-501 Bypass North.
  • Take the NC-751 exit, exit 107, to Duke University West Campus.
  • Turn right onto Cameron Boulevard at the light at the bottom of the exit ramp.
  • Follow Cameron to the first traffic light - Erwin Road.
  • Turn left onto Erwin Road.
  • Follow Erwin Road for approximately 2 miles until you go under a train-track bridge.  Immediately after this bridge you will hit a traffic light, which is W. Main Street.
  • Turn left at this light onto W. Main Street.
  • Pass Wachovia Bank and Erwin Squre Mill Building (on right).
  • The next right is the entrance to Erwin Square Plaza (tall glass building).         

 From Durham Chapel Hill Road traveling Northeast

  • Follow Durham Chapel Hill Road northwest to Duke University exit ramp.
  • Take ramp and turn left onto Academy Road.
  • Follow Academy Road to Duke University Road.
  • Turn Right onto Duke University Road.
  • Follow Duke University Road to Anderson Avenue.
  • Take a left onto Anderson Avenue and proceed three stop lights to W. Main Street.
  • Turn right onto W. Main Street.
  • Follow W. Main Street to Erwin Square Plaza on left (tall glass building).   

 From Hillsborough Road traveling Southeast

  • Take Hillsborough Road southeast.
  • Turn Right on 15th Street.
  • Turn Left on W. Main Street.
  • Follow W. Main Street past Erwin Square Plaza on left (tall glass building).

 From Gregson Street traveling Southwest

  • Take Gregson Street southwest.
  • Turn right on Main Street.
  • Follow Main Street past Duke's East campus (on right), and through the Swift Avenue/Broad Street traffic light and 9th Street/Erwin Road traffic light.
  • Immediately following the 9th Street/Erwin Road traffic light you will see Wachovia Bank on the right corner and Erwin Square Mill Building
  • The Erwin Square Plaza is in the next building on the right (tall glass building).
